Minor injuries reported after 2-vehicle accident

Only minor injuries were reported, and one citation was written after a two-vehicle accident in Mt. Pleasant on Monday, July 1, 2019.

Claire Holtkamp was cited for failure to yield upon a left after Mt. Pleasant Police responded to an accident at the intersection of Iris and Monroe streets.

According to police reports, the incident happened at approximately 12:50 p.m. Claire Holtkamp was driving a passenger car northbound on Iris Street and attempting to turn east onto Monroe Street when she turned in front of a southbound SUV, operated by Douglas Marley.

Both vehicles sustained major damage as a result of the accident. Minor injuries were reported.

The Mt. Pleasant Police Department was assisted on scene by the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department, the Henry County EMS and Breuer Towing.
