MT. PLEASANT — As National Small Business Week continues through May 6, The Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of commerce continues to celebrate this year’s nominations for Small Business of the Year.
Wednesday morning, Brad Moutrie and crew welcomed chamber members and supporters to Moutrie Trucking for breakfast and a close look at the cabs of their semi-trucks as he expressed his gratitude for the nomination.
According to Moutrie, the company just received the new trucks, which individuals happily climbed into and explored.
“On average, our trucks are about a year and a half old,” Moutrie said. “We keep modern equipment. We have everything in them for the driver. We have leather seats, satellite radios, TV, refrigerators, microwaves, bunk beds, camper style tables and chairs in the back.”
Moutrie and his wife began this company 26 years ago with a clear mission to “Never promise more than we can deliver; Always deliver more than we promise.”
“We currently operate 25 company owned trucks, 75 company owned trailers,” Moutrie said.
According to Moutrie, the company retains authorization to transport freight in 48 states.
Moutrie thanked his whole crew for their hard work and dedication, which makes the company a success.
At the Small Business Breakfast, the morning of Friday, May 5, Moutrie Trucking will anxious wait alongside KILJ, Your Dream Home Furniture & Floors, Wilson Distribution, and Brown’s Shoe Fit to learn which of them will take home the Small Business of the Year Award.
