MP city limits bow hunting begins this month

MT. PLEASANT — Deer Bow hunting season in the city of Mt. Pleasant will run Sept. 16-January 10, 2024.

According to Mt. Pleasant Police Department, those interested in bow hunting within city limits may pick up a copy of the rules and regulations at the police department or Big Creek Outdoors located at 1751 Oakland Mills Rd.

Those wishing to hunt within city limits must be at least 18 years of age and possess an Iowa hunting license and a City of Mt. Pleasant Bow Hunting Permit.

Licenses and permits may be obtained through Big Creek Outdoors. They also administer the proficiency test necessary to obtain a city permit.

The city permit is a special issued permit valid only within the city limits of Mt. Pleasant. It does not affect your ability to purchase other state deer hunting licenses.
