MUSCATINE — Mt. Pleasant Community High School Panther Marching Band ended their season on a high note with their 37th consecutive division 1 rating at the State Marching Band Festival.
While the band’s season did not start off the strongest with a seventh-place finish at the Linn-Mar invitational, they made a serious comeback at the Clarke County Parade of Champions with a second-place finish in their division.
Keeping the momentum going, MPCHS Panther Marching Band wrapped their competitive season in Muscatine at the State Contest. This contest is not ranked in placements like the others, but instead schools compete to earn division ratings ranging from one to five.
MPCHS Panther Marching Band brought home a Division 1 rating, the highest achievable score in Muscatine. Not only is this their 37th consecutive Division 1 rating at this festival, according to Dave Schneider, but this is the band’s 54th Division 1 rating in 55 years.
