MT. PLEASANT — With the end of the year just around the corner and deadline for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) coning up on Feb. 1, Mt. Pleasant Community High School is offering assistance.
While the application for fall 2024 does not open until December, a representative from the high school says they will have a representative available to help students and parents get their information ready for when it does open.
Students seeking assistance with their FAFSAs should report to MPCHS Media Center Thursday, Nov. 2 from 5-7 p.m. with their laptops and parents.
The Educational Opportunity Center will help walk students through the necessary process for student aid, but attendees must first set up their Federal Student Aid ID.
According to information from the school, these IDs can take up to one week to obtain verification. Students and parents much each create an ID prior to attending.
Additionally, participants should plan to bring Social Security numbers for the student applying and both parents of the student.
They also will need to now dates of birth, email addresses of students and parents, cellphones with access to emails, 2022 taxes, and student driver’s license if they have one.
