KAHOKA — Mt. Pleasant Community High School’s Panther Marching Band made a come back at the 33rd Annual Parade of Champions at Clark County R-1 High School in Kahoka, Missouri over the weekend.
The marching band really woke up in solid groove as they hit the field in Kahoka, Missouri with their Dare to Dream performance.
After facing tough competition at Linn-Mar the week before homecoming, the MPCHS marching band earned second place in the Class 4A division. Thanks to their comeback performance, MPCHS color guard also walked away with first place. The drum majors received top honors in 4A plus the highest score among all of the participating bands’ drum majors for all classes.
The MPCHS marching band’s success in Missouri was made possible thanks to the hard work of 75 students playing horns, 17 playing percussion, 24 filling auxiliary positions and two acting as drum majors.
The band hopes to bring the same level of performance to their competition this weekend at the State Contest in Muscatine, Saturday, Oct. 19.
