KAHOKA, Mo. — Mt. Pleasant Community High School Marching Band notched their first victory and returned home as Champions from the 32nd Annual Parade of Champions in Kahoka.
With more than 20 marching bands flocking to Kahoka Saturday for the Parade of Champions parade and field show, MPCHS Marching Band stood out as they swept the competition.
Their performance of their show “Power of One” earned them first place in 3A Class marching bands.
While MPCHS has consistently brought home captions for Best Color Guard this season, they definitively brought their best in all realms at the Parade of Champions as they swept the rest of the caption awards, as well.
Other caption awards that accompanied the victorious band home included Best Percussion, and Best Drum Majors.
Riding high on this win, the 148-member band will take to the field next at the Iowa High School Music Association State Marching Festival next Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Brady Street Stadium in Davenport at 11:30 a.m.
