PELLA — Mt. Pleasant opened their season Tuesday night against a tough Pella opponent.
The Dutch proved to be too much for the Panthers. Pella was victorious, 63-43.
At the end of the first quarter, Mt. Pleasant was down by 10, trailing 17-7. It would be the smallest deficit of the game for the Panthers.
The Dutch rolled in the second quarter scoring 22 points to the Panthers’ 13. Pella led at the half, 39-20.
The third quarter was much of the same, as Mt. Pleasant was held to just six points, trailing 53-26 by the end of the quarter.
Mt. Pleasant had their best quarter in the fourth, outscoring Pella 17 to 10, but it was too little too late.
Andrea Lopreato lead the Panthers with 18 points. Kenna Lamm added nine points.
Kats Schimmelpfennig, Tristian Shull and Jadan Brumbaugh all finished with four. Andi Scott scored two.
Mt. Pleasant, now 0-1, will look to get back to .500 on Nov. 29 when they visit Ottumwa.
