BURLINGTON — Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Mt. Pleasant man, last Wednesday, in Burlington.
According to the media arrest summary, officials arrested Anthony Lien and charged him with damaging the levee on Tama Road which is a serious misdemeanor.
The criminal complaint filed with the clerk of courts states that Lein drove a 2018 Nissan Rogue onto the levee creating damage.
According to the complaint, an officer responded to reports of a gray SUV stuck on the levee at approximately 7 p.m.
“Anthony admitted to driving on top of the levee northbound from Tama boat ramp,” Arresting officer Dilan Beaird stated in his supporting facts. “[Lien] then advised that he had gotten stuck on top of the levee. He stated after he got unstuck he drove down onto Tama Rd.”
Beaird stated he also spoke with a witness which confirmed the situation.
“I looked at the tire tracks on the levee and found where the vehicle had been stuck and created ruts in the sand,” he added.
