Mt. Pleasant man arrested on sexual exploitation charges

MT. PLEASANT — The Henry County Sheriff’s Office filed charges against and arrested a Mt. Pleasant man for attempting to entice a minor with the intent to commit illegal sex acts or exploitation.
According to criminal complaints filed with Henry County Courts, between March and May, Jeremey Lee, 24, Mt. Pleasant “did knowingly entice a juvenile minor with the intent to commit sexual acts upon or sexual exploitation.”
Court documents state the sheriff’s office were informed of communication and/or a relationship between Lee and a juvenile minor with more than four years age difference.
According to Officer Aaron Aplara’s report the sheriff’s office observed communication between the two through Snapchats which appeared to show, “an ongoing relationship and of a very sexual nature.”
“This included several messages asking to talking about the performance of sexual acts on each other,” Aplara wrote in his report.
During the Sheriff Office’s investigation, Lee admitted to the sexual acts mentioned in these conversations. Aplara claims Lee stated, “that he probably ‘should not have.’” In reference to these instances.
According to Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Lee is charged with enticing a minor under 16 for sexual purpose, a class D felony, and telephone dissemination of obscene material to a minor, an aggravated misdemeanor.
On Monday, Lee was released to pre-trial supervision awaiting his initial hearing scheduled for June 30 at 9 a.m.
