MT. PLEASANT — A Mt. Pleasant man was arrested Friday, April 11 after a Henry County Sheriff’s deputy observed a gray Jeep Cherokee without license plates leaving the Hy-Vee parking lot.
At approximately 7:20 p.m., the deputy conducted a traffic stop in the Jet Stop Laundry Mat parking lot. The driver was identified as Jason Swailes, 39, of Mount Pleasant.
An investigation revealed Swailes' driving privileges in Iowa were suspended, with nine withdrawals in effect. He was arrested for driving under suspension.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
