MT. PLEASANT — Thursday, Aug. 7, Mt. Pleasant Police Department arrested Kyle Willey, 27, of Mt. Pleasant in connection with charges of enticement of a minor under 16 for sexual purposes, a Class D felony.
According to the criminal complaint filed with the Henry County Court, authorities caught Willey communicating with an undercover Mt. Pleasant Police Office posing as a 15-year-old female.
“During the conversation Willey learned that the [undercover officer] was 15 years of age and asked them to do sex acts,” the complaint states.
Police Chief Lyle Murray stated that Willey then asked the undercover officer to come to his house for the purpose of engaging in these acts and arranged to meet what he thought was a 15-year-old girl at the park across the street from his house.
According to court documents, as Willey walked to meet the girl, he sent a message describing what he was wearing then authorities intercepted him and placed him under arrest.
“During the interview with Willey he admitted to communicating with the female that he knew was 15,” Murray wrote in the criminal complaint. “He admitted to going to meet the female for all of the above described sex acts.”
Willey was transported to the Henry County Jail and held with a cash or surety bail of $5,000 with a preliminary hearing schedule for Sept. 18 at 9 a.m.
