MT. PLEASANT — As the Mt. Pleasant community prepares for being an overnight stop on the RAGBRAI route this summer, those planning for the event created a Facebook page to announce information as it becomes available, including Mt. Pleasant’s theme: “Make Yourself at Home.”
According to organizers, the theme fits what they would like visitors from all over the country to feel when they stay over in the small town Friday, July 26, right before making the last leg of their trip to Burlington where they will dip their bicycle tires in the Mississippi River.
“We hope to charm you with our small-town pride,” organizers stated in an announcement of the “Make Yourself At Home” theme alongside a video of a rocking chair.
As one of eight overnight stops along the route in July, Chamber of Commerce Executive Vice President Rachel Lindeen says there just isn’t a lot of information to release about the ride.
RAGBRAI riders can find information such as links for places to stay and the Mt. Pleasant community can learn more as the information becomes available from RAGBRAI meetings leading up to the event.
According to Lindeen, the complete route for RAGBRAI should be released next month. Until then, she shares the community’s excitement and looks forward to announcing more information.
