Mt. Pleasant sends 10 students to Honor Band

MT. PLEASANT—Mt. Pleasant Middle and High School music students participated in Southeast Iowa Bandmaster Association (SEIBA) Honor Band auditions Saturday, January 7.

Six middle school and four high school students and will participate in a day of rehearsal and concert on January 21 at the University of Iowa.

Those selected for the Middle School Honor Band include Carly Mullin—Bass Clarinet, Jolynn Martin—trumpet, Landon Church—trumpet, Oliver Rynders—baritone, Michael Tansey—tuba, and Bella Dodds-percussion.

Trumpeter Brandon Burtlow, Tenor Saxophonist Jolynn Keomanivong, and trombonist Danny Muhs will perform with the High School Honor Band.

Robbie Heaton will play the bass with the High School Honor Jazz Band.

These talented musicians earned their placements amongst competitors of 17 counties in southeast Iowa.
