Mt. Pleasant woman cited after collision with semi

MT. PLEASANT — No injuries were reported following a two-vehicle collision the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 30 in rural Henry County, authorities said.

According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a crash at about 8:16 a.m. in the 2600 grid of River Road. A 2010 Mack semitruck driven by Michael Francy of Mt. Pleasant was turning into a field drive when it was struck by a 2016 Jeep Cherokee driven by Sherrie Brewer, also of Mt. Pleasant.

Both vehicles sustained minor damage. Brewer was cited for unsafe passing, the sheriff’s office said.

A court appearance for Brewer is scheduled for Oct. 24 at the Henry County Courthouse in Mt. Pleasant.

Authorities reminded the public that a criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
