MT. PLEASANT — With a new month comes a new artist in the Mt. Pleasant Main Street Art Center Gallery.
Ron Wick is the featured artist for the month of July and recently enjoyed a warm welcoming reception from the community.
According to Gallery Director Lorrilee Miller, there was a large presence from Wick’s hometown of Burlington.
Wick set a new record for number of sales at his reception with 14 pieces gaining new ownership.
Miller attributes the large amount of sales to the relatability his work and the reasonable prices.
She would describe his work as “a lot of farm landscapes and many Madison County vibes.”
Wick is a noteworthy artist as he not only studied at the prestigious American Academy of Art in Chicago, but was also taught there for 12 years.
Born in Burlington, but growing up in Mt. Union, displaying his art in Mt. Pleasant has been well received.
Wick displays a wide variety of art featuring landscapes, day to day life, and even vibrant paintings of the cross.
Much of his work could be considered images of everyday beauty.
According to his artist profile, “He strives to capture a moment in time and share it with you while giving the glory to God.”
“You feel like you’re there,” Miller said of Wick’s art.
Ron Wick’s art will remain on display and for sale through the end of July.
