New London Carnival canceled

NEW LONDON — Monday morning, New London PTO announced they will cancel the Carnival scheduled for Friday evening.

The decision comes after heartbreaking news that Clark Elementary first-grader Keegan Miller passed away Thursday morning.

“We have made the hard decision to cancel the Carnival this year,” the PTO announced. “Clark is like one big family and when there is a loss, everyone feels it. The Carnival will be back, just not this week. Please keep Keegan’s family, the Clark Staff, and all the students in your thoughts this week as we remember a sweet boy.”

As Keegan’s classmates mourn the loss of their friend that loved music and the solar system, the New London Community School District continues to provide support through school counselors, teachers, and the assistance of the Area Education Association.

Visitation for Keegan is today, Thursday, May 4 from 5-8 p.m. at Lunning Funeral Chapel and funeral services are Friday, May 5 at 1 p.m. at New Life Family Church in Burlington.
