New London’s new year starts with new teachers
The new Industrial Tech teacher for New London shares a little about himself

NEW LONDON — It’s that time of year again, teachers and families are preparing for a new school year. Take some time to get to know the newest teachers to the area.
Matt May
New London secondary schools welcome Matt May as the new Industrial Technology teacher.
May came to this position with a love for working with his hands and passing on knowledge to the future workforce.
How did you find yourself in this position?
I work as a Carpenter in the summer and have worked as a Carpenter since I was 18.
I have a passion for teaching and a passion for building things.
So, when you put those two passions together you get an Industrial Tech teacher
Where did you graduate?
Graduated from Upper Iowa University in 1997 and Graduated from Aurora University in Illinois with my Masters in Educational Leadership.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago
Do you have a motto/mission statement for why/how you approach your job?
Work hard and put in the time, nothing happens overnight!
