MT. PLEASANT — After years of work on Oasis Avenue, Henry County Engineer Jake Hotchkiss says work is finally complete, although work on roads in other parts of the county will inevitably continue.
While Hotchkiss says the Base One Stabilization on Oasis Avenue took a good amount of time to finish, he believes it was worth it.
“If we could afford to do more in that stabilization, I think it shows its merit,” Hotchkiss told the Henry County Supervisors, Thursday, Oct. 10.
As that project comes to an end, the Henry County Engineer’s Office announces updates to the construction on W55/Frankling Avenue.
Thus far, the contractor has completed the embankment fill from Freemont south to Salem. Last week the contractor worked on replacing entrances along the project and began milling road top from Oakland Mills bridge south toward Salem.
Beginning this week, the contractor will start patching multiple sections of Franklin Avenue and preparing for paving. The contractor will then begin asphalt work on the shoulder widening.
Motorists should plan for delays as they use detours or run into flaggers and pilot cars on Franklin Avenue until paving is complete.
