One injured in dump truck collision with power pole

MT. PLEASANT—Thursday, Oct. 27, around 3 p.m., the Henry County Sheriff’s Department was made aware of a motor vehicle accident in the 2100-grid of Highway 78.

A 2014 Kenworth dump truck collided with a high line power pole.

Jon Deshalter, 56 of Floris, was hauling asphalt in the commercial vehicle eastbound on Highway 78 when the truck left the roadway and entered the south ditch.

The vehicle rolled onto the passenger side and the asphalt spilled into the ditch.

Deshalter was transported to the Henry County Health Center.

The Iowa Department of Transportation, Winfield Fire and Rescue, Olds Fire and Rescue, and the Henry County Health Center Ambulance assisted Henry County Sheriff’s office with this incident.
