Public Health will hold Back-to-School Health Fair

MT. PLEASANT — Henry County Public Health will host a new back to school health fair on Tuesday, Aug. 8 from 4-7pm at Manning Hall of Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church.

At this event, kids can get their back-to-school immunizations, lead testing, dental screening and vision screening all in one place.

Sports physicals will also be available for $25 (CASH ONLY).

“We know summers are busy and go by fast, so we want to give this opportunity for parents to get all of their children’s back to school health requirements taken care of in one evening.” Immunization Coordinator states Robin Poole.

Physicals and most screenings have paperwork that will need to be filled out and those will be available onsite or at HealthyHenryCounty.org/PublicHealth. Language translation will be available.

In addition to fulfilling vaccine requirements for students, the event will also offer community resource tables, kids activities, and giveaways.

For those wanting to eat dinner at the event, Full Smoke BBQ and Casa Bella Potosina food trucks will offer food for purchase.

According to Henry County Public Health Community Outreach Coordinator Kelly Carr, this event is intended to benefit everyone in Henry Count schools, but they also welcome those outside Henry County.
