MT. PLEASANT — Nice weather means yard sales, and with more yard sales, businesses like the Quarter Maybe More Store find themselves receiving more donations and more business.
According to Fellowship Director Ken Brown, the Quarter Maybe More Store will expand their hours beginning this month through the summer in response to people searching for deals after yard sales and others wanting to drop off items they haven’t sold at their own sales.
“Really with the Quarter Store, we want to be able to meet a demand that we haven’t been meeting on the weekend especially with the yard sales,” Brown said. “A lot of times people will get done with a yard sale around noon, and by the time they come into the store, it's closed. So we want to make sure that we're extending the courtesy to that group of people who have dealt with the yard sales that they can still drop off to the corner store.”
The store will extend their Thursday and Friday store hours from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. to 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. Saturday hours will transition to 9 a.m.-3 p.m. for the summer. Monday-Wednesday hours will remain 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. Donation hours will align with store hours throughout the summer, as well.
“They started this in June and it’s going to run through this summer, but it may be something that stays if the demand is high for these hours,” Brown said.
The Quarter Maybe More Store is a thrift store that sells clothing, furniture, and household items. Income from the store supports the ministry of The Fellowship Cup which works to serve those in the Henry County Community with a food pantry and other resources.
