MT. PLEASANT — The unofficial count for the 2024 General election in Henry County shows the residents’ support for Republican candidates on the ballot including Donald Trump, Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Mark Lofgren, and Taylor Collins.
Even before polling locations opened Tuesday, Nov. 5, Henry County saw 5,328 ballots cast. After what poll-site volunteer Bob Griffith called a steady stream of people all day Tuesday, the flow of voters picked up right around 5 p.m. when many got off work resulting in a total of 9,672 ballots cast in the election. That is a 71.37% voter turn out.
The Henry County Auditor’s Office compiled all these votes and offered the following unofficial totals for the county. These results will not be considered official until the Henry County Board of Supervisors canvas the votes over the next two weeks, though, there is no recent history of the canvassing process changing a race’s outcome.
Additionally, the following vote totals only include ballots cast in Henry County, a more inclusive look at these races will be available Wednesday, Nov. 6 online and Thursday, Nov. 7 in the Mt. Pleasant News.
