MT. PLEASANT — Henry County Engineer’s Office announced upcoming road closures for Lexington Avenue and Marsh Avenue this month.
According to County Engineer Jake Hotchkiss, Marsh Avenue will close beginning Wednesday, Nov. 1 between 110th Street and 120th Street for a bridge repair project.
“Work is anticipated to take two weeks depending on weather,” Hotchkiss reported.
Beginning the next day, Thursday, Nov. 2, Lexington Avenue will close between 330th Street and 335th Street for a box culvert extension project.
“We’re going to cut off traffic to maybe some of those shorter routes, but everyone is going to have access one way or another,” Hotchkiss explained to the Henry County Board of Supervisors, Tuesday morning.
According to Hotchkiss it is difficult to notify everyone in the area of projects like the one on Lexington Avenue and that will make this a “hard closure.”
Hotchkiss anticipates the Lexington Avenue project to take approximately three weeks.
