MT. PLEASANT — As long as weather allows, Henry County Road Crews will continue work.
The shoulder pull work for the 275th Street project has recently been completed. Seeding will need to be done later this fall, but the project will no longer cause travel delays.
Grout Scouts’ work of adding liners and reconnecting reinforced concrete pipes for culverts on 170th Street have extended the life of many culverts.
Work continues on paved road shoulders, and preparation for more should rock to be laid on New London Road and Oakland Mills Road are being made.
W55 North and W55 South of Highway 78 pavement and rock shoulders are now complete and will receive pavement markings later this week.
Even seeding has taken place on W55 North, though it is likely to need reseeding this fall.
The Bridge 105 work on Winfield Avenue is making progress, but the road remains closed, and will likely remain closed throughout the Old Thresher’s Reunion.
“Our main goal has always been to have this bridge work done in time for harvest,” Henry County Engineer Jake Hotchkiss said. “Timing is hard in the summer, but it is all work that needs done.”
Crews are currently working on backfilling the culvert, and it is simply a time-consuming process.
The 270th bridge replacement has closed 270th street’s dirt road and begun removing the bridge and receiving deliveries of materials.
