Roll through an entertaining weekend
Henry County fair boasts fun events for the weekend
Jul. 7, 2022 1:57 pm
Henry County fair promises to keep fair-goers entertained at the grandstand July 15-17.
What is a fair in Iowa without a good ‘ol fashion tractor pull?
After the cancellation of the 2021 fair’s Truck and Tractor pull, the event is set to return for the 2022 fair season.
Friday July 15 at 6:30 p.m. Community 1st Credit Union is sponsoring an IFPA Truck and Tractor pull.
Saturday’s grandstand entertainment will keep crowds satisfied well into the evening.
The big action of the demo derby is set to take place at 7 p.m., but pits will open at 3 p.m.
General admission for demo derby is $10 for those 11 years and older and $5 for those under ten.
Those interested can add a pit pass for $20.
The derby consists of three classes, Limited Weld Full Size, 80s Bonestock, and Mid-size.
Additionally there will be a Power Wheels for Kids class.
While the Demolition Derby will make plenty of loud noises, there will be more loud booms to follow with a fireworks show.
The derby and the fireworks are sponsored by Pilot Grove Savings Bank.
Saturday’s fun continues into the night with a performance from The Boys in the beer garden from 9-11 p.m. thanks to the sponsorship of Henry County Farm Bureau.
The Boys are a local high-energy Southeast Iowa country band with a self titled debut album available.
Wrapping up the exciting weekend, the ATV Rodeo performs at the grandstand Sunday, July 17 at 4 p.m.
Mark your calendars for this fun packed weekend.
