WAPELLO — Two individuals received aid from Wapello Fire and Rescue Sunday afternoon when their utility terrain vehicle rolled over.

According to a news release from Wapello Fire and Rescue, they responded to a call of a UTV rollover accident with injuries at 3:12 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7 on I Avenue- approximately a half mile north of County Road G62 in rural Wapello.

“Upon arrival, emergency crews discovered a side-by-side UTV resting on its side leaking fuel with two occupants still inside and unable to get out,” the statement reads. “The occupants were assisted out of the vehicle and moved to a waiting Wapello ambulance for evaluation. Fire crews contained the fuel spill and assisted with removal of the vehicle.”

Wapello Fire and Rescue’s department policy does not allow for identification of the occupants.
