Ruth Ann Hoskins

Ruth Ann Hoskins, 72, of Donnellson, died on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at the Ft. Madison Community Hospital.

Friends may call after noon on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at the Schmitz Funeral Home, in Donnellson, with the family meeting friends from 4 to 7 p.m., that evening. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday March 2, 2016, at the Schmitz Funeral Home, in Donnellson, with Rev. Mark P. Spring officiating. Burial will be in the Charleston Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to PAWS in Ft. Madison or St Joseph?s Catholic Church in Montrose. The Schmitz Funeral Home, in Donnellson, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.schmitzfuneralhomes.com.

Hoskins was born on May 7, 1943, at Ft. Madison, the daughter of Joe and Louise Moore Peterman. On Sept. 30, 1961, at St. Josephs Catholic Church, in Montrose, she married John Darrell Hoskins. She was a 1961 graduate of Donnellson High School.

She retired from Shellor Globe after 29 years. She also cleaned homes in the Donnellson area.

She was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Montrose.

She enjoyed working on the family farm, spending time with her family, animals, gardening, her flowers and hummingbirds.

Hoskins is survived by her husband; one daughter, Darla (Mike) Eaves, of Donnellson; one son, Jeff (Mary) Hoskins, of Donnellson; three grandsons; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Whilla Shinn, of Ft. Madison; and one brother, Larry Peterman, of Donnellson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Delphia Bryant; two brothers, Sonny and Gary Peterman; and a granddaughter.
