Salem man arrested for felony assault

Salem— On Sept. 28 Henry County Sherriff’s department arrested Adam J. Warth on charges of D Felony of domestic abuse assault, C Felony of willful injury—causing serious injury, serious misdemeanors of false imprisonment, and interference with official acts.
According to the court documents, the victim sought assistance from a third party when a fight broke out of with Warth.
The victim sustained a large gash on the side of her head and injuries to her legs when Warth place a couch in front of the door of their residence.
He then proceeded to strike the victim with an aluminum baseball bat and throw a milk crate at her.
The injuries resulted in the need for medical treatment including stitches.
When authorities attempted to make contact with Warth, it was reported that he had fled the scene of the crime into a nearby field.
Iowa State Patrol assisted in later locating Warth exiting a wood-line near southern rural Salem.
Warth was taken into custody and is currently held on a cash only bond in the amount of $25,000.
This is Warth’s third charge of domestic abuse assault following the lifting of a no-contact order with the victim on Sept. 10.
