Scott and Amy Lowe to receive posthumous historic preservation award

MT. PLEASANT — Saturday, May 14 Scott and Amy Lowe will be honored with a posthumous presentation of the 2022 Historic Preservation Award.
The Lowes had been passionate about the restoration to maintain a theater in the town they cared so greatly about.
The beloved couple were causalities of a plane crashed Aug. 16, 2020 in Osage Beach and left behind two children.
Considering the Lowes’ work restoring the Main Street Theater, attendees are asked to meet there for a brief ceremony for the presentation.
Following the presentation guests are invited to learn about Mt. Pleasant’s historic downtown on a walking tour with the Mount Pleasant Historic Preservation Commission.
As the group explores downtown they will have the opportunity to view 16 downtown buildings that are listed on the Nation Register of Historic Places.
The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. with the walk to follow at 10:15 a.m.
