MT. PLEASANT-- The Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra gives everyone college-age and younger a chance to enjoy their free Kidsymphony this weekend in Mt. Pleasant, Fairfield, Riverside, Ottumwa, and Burlington.
“Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra is extremely excited to present Peter and the Wolf, and music from Encanto and Star Wars on Saturday, Nov. 18 and Sunday, Nov. 19. In fact, we are so excited about this concert that we have added two new performance locations this year: Fairfield Arts and Convention Center and Highland High School,” said Executive Director Jeffrey Phillips.
The concert will feature professional storyteller Michael Boudewyns of Really Inventive Stuff.
Musical Director Robert McConnell, Conducting Fellow Jilly Cooke, and SEISO will take a lighthearted approach to introducing students and their families to the symphony orchestra.
The concert will include individual instrument demonstrations and the audience will be invited to come on stage after the concert to see and hear the instruments up close.
Each concert lasts about 45 minutes — not too long for little ones to enjoy from beginning to end. They’re inspiring, fast-paced and very entertaining.
Tickets for Kidsymphony concerts are sold on our website www.seiso.us, and at the door ($5 for adults, college aged and younger are free).
