DES MOINES — On Monday, Sen. Mark Lofgren, R-Muscatine, was sworn in for his third term in the Iowa Senate.
“As a representative of my constituents for over eight years, I’ve worked on and voted for legislation focused on keeping Iowa strong and have worked to help make Iowa more competitive with other states,” Lofgren said. “I look forward to continuing helping to ensure the next generation of Iowans experience the same promise and opportunity as I have.”
Sen. Lofgren serves on the Appropriations, Health and Human Services, Judiciary, Local Government, Transportation, and Workforce committees.
Sen. Mark Lofgren earned his B. B. A in finance from the University of Iowa. His professional experience includes careers in both the real estate and investment industries, formerly owning and operating Lofgren Investments, and a real estate business. He is currently a real estate associate with Real Estate Resource Associates in Muscatine, where he specializes in both residential and commercial real estate. He is a certified negotiation expert, and has earned Chartered Financial Consultant, Certified Residential Specialist, Graduate of Real Estate Institute, and Accredited Commercial Professional designations. He served two terms in the Iowa House before being elected to the Iowa Senate in 2016.
Sen. Lofgren is a lifelong resident of Iowa. He has been married to his wife, Paula, for over 35 years. They have four children: Emily, Olivia, Maggie, and Markus, and are the proud grandparents of five. Sen. Lofgren is a former track, basketball, and soccer coach for the Muscatine Community Y and Youth Sports Foundation. He also is an avid runner in his free time.
