Single vehicle crashed into ditch

NEW LONDON — Henry County Sheriff’s Office charged one person with Failure to Maintain Control after leaving the scene of a single vehicle accident near New London.

On Feb. 11 at approximately 11:25 a.m., Henry County Dispatch received multiple reports of a single vehicle crash in the 3300-grid of New London Road.

An investigation into the collision determined a 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by, Kaity Bench, 36, of New London, was traveling southbound on New London Road, when the vehicle left the roadway. The vehicle traveled approximately 600 feet along the ditch and collided with fencing, before coming to rest. The driver of the vehicle left the scene and was later located at their residence.

No injuries were reported. The damage to the vehicle was estimated to be $15,000. Kaity was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
