Small Business Week ahead
Mt. Pleasant celebrates small businesses

MT. PLEASANT — The Mount Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce Alliance will be honoring Small Business Week with visits of the Small Business of the Year Award finalists this week.
Finalists were announced at Addington Place’s Alive After Five event April 6 and include Coffee Depot, Children's Dental Center of Southeast Iowa, the REC Center, Addington Place of Mount Pleasant, and Brad Holtkamp Automotive.
“We’re gearing up to celebrate all of the wonderful small businesses that help make Mount Pleasant a great place to live and work,” Director of Membership Delaney Van Ness said.
Chamber members and the public are invited to join the Chamber as they visit businesses and host ribbon cuttings followed by a short social gathering throughout the week.
The Small Business Week Schedule:
Monday, May 2 from 11:50 a.m.-12:50 p.m. Children’s Dental Center and 2 p.m. Coffee Depot ribbon cuttings will take place.
Tuesday, May 3 at 10 a.m. The REC Center will host a ribbon cutting.
Wednesday, May 4 Traction Steam will host an Alive After Five (120 South Main Street Suite 103).
Thursday, May 5 at 10 a.m. Brad Holtkamp Automotive and 2 p.m. Addington Place will host guests for small business week.
The Small Business of the Year title will be presented at a Chamber Member only luncheon Friday to conclude the week.
National small business week is celebrated the first week in May to bring recognition to the small businesses that are vital to our nation.
