Sorta Sweet Boutique celebrates grand opening
Cindy Wardle excitedly celebrates her brick and mortar shop in downtown Mt. Pleasant
MT. PLEASANT — Just in time for Shop Small Saturday, Sorta Sweet Boutique celebrated the grand opening of their shop located just off the Mt. Pleasant square downtown on Pink Friday.
Sorta Sweet Boutique, owned by Cindy Wardle, may have just celebrated the grand opening of their shop, but they’ve been around for a while.
In September 2022, Wardle launched her business that features a variety of women’s clothing in straight and curvy sizes online.
Less than a year later in August 2023, Sorta Sweet Boutique soft opened in downtown Mt. Pleasant.
Last week, Wardle and her crew partnered with the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce to thoroughly celebrate this new chapter in the business with a ribbon cutting grand opening event.
Wardle describes herself as “a small-town girl, girl boss, God-loving woman, mom, daughter, aunt and friend.”
According to Wardle, she ventured into the boutique business “to help moms, daughters, and friends look as beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside.”
“I believe EVERY female deserves to look and feel pretty!” Wardle explains. “When you look good, you feel good! It’s not just clothes. Sometimes it’s putting on confidence.”
In consideration of this philosophy, Wardle thinks it is important to give back to the community.
One way Sorta Sweet Boutique does this is by partnering with individuals that share stories of people they know that have “hit a rough patch in life,” to gift them with a boost of confidence or something to brighten their day.
Wardle intends to continue to stay connected with the community as she welcomes women from all walks of life into her shop for confidence boosts by continuing to partner with Main Street and the chamber for events like Shop Small Saturday.
Sorta Sweet Boutique also will host a “Ladies, Wine, and Wishes” day Saturday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. where Wardle says her customers will be able to “make a sweet wish list” for the Santa shopping for them this holiday season.
