TRENTON — A traffic stop performed by a Henry County Sheriff Deputy for speeding lead to the arrest of a Wayland man outside of Trenton, Saturday, March 22.
According to Henry County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 8:35 p.m. a deputy observed Skylur Moseley, 29 of Wayland, driving 64 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone in the 1400-grid of Franklin Avenue.
Deputy Richard Stallman conducted a traffic stop of Moseley’s 2015 black Ford Explorer at the intersection of 120th Street and Franklin Avenue where he observed signs of impairment and pursued an investigation.
“I also observed an open container of alcohol (can of Busch Light beer) behind the passenger seat in a can koozie,” Stallman wrote in a criminal complaint filed with Iowa Courts. “Skylur handed me this can of Busch Light and I dumped it out. I observed several old empty Busch Light cans throughout the vehicle.”
After conducting Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, Stallman took Moseley into custody and transported to the Henry County Jail where he was charged with one count of Operating While Under the Influence, first offense, a serious misdemeanor.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
