Spring clean up this weekend
Friday WEMIGA and the City of Winfield will haul away unwanted items for Spring cleanup

WINFIELD — Winfield residents can get rid of unwanted household items tomorrow, Friday, June 7 as part of the annual Spring cleanup following the townwide yard sales last weekend.
All items must be placed on the curb by 7 a.m. and adhere to guidelines set forth by the City of Winfield and WEMIGA Waste. Spring cleanup piles may not exceed 8 feet long by 8 feet wide by 3 feet tall.
WEMIGA Waste will accept the following items:
Miscellaneous unwanted household items including two furniture items
Up to one door and one window per household
Regular household food waste
A single carpet rolled and tied up to 6 feet long per household
Up to 5 gallons of used oil
Dried latex paint No other chemical waste will be allowed
Miscellaneous bagged or boxed trash
Televisions and monitors will require a bulk sticker which are available for purchase at city hall for $30.
The city will pick up the following:
Appliances: washers, dryers, water heaters, refrigerators, air conditioning units, microwaves, and stoves Appliances with food waste or trash will not be accepted.
Miscellaneous scrap metal items
The following items will NOT be accepted:
Oil base paint
Chemicals
Concrete
Bricks
Ashes
Construction or demolition material
Loose piles of trash
