MT. PLEASANT — Following an underwhelming first attempt, former antique shop owner Wendy Mather and her friend Sarabeth Carter gear up to launch the Spring-tacular Vendor Show again this year.
At the end of March 2022, Mathers and Carter attempted to put together this vendor show for the first time.
According to Mathers, however, the first attempt did not go as they had hoped.
“Only 12 vendors signed up for the initial show and only five of those showed up,” she said.
Mathers is hopeful and excited to try again, though.
“This year, my friend said ‘You want to do it again?’ and I thought, ‘ … maybe,’” Mathers said.
“This one looks like it is going to be quite a success,” she said. “It is going to be a really big show, we have lots of different vendors, and food, and goodies!”
Currently, between 45 and 50 vendors signed up for the show.
Things to shop will include crafts, antiques, Scentsy, Pampered Chef, Thirty-One, BBQ sauces, soaps, Tupperware, and much more.
Additionally, Papp’s Best Dog’s and More, Kountry Korner, and El Gringo Loco will serve through the duration of the show.
“Our fire department in Mt. Union is selling funnel cakes as a fundraiser,” Mathers said. “I hope everyone raising money gets enough and that those selling make enough to make it worth it.”
Thank You is NOT Enough will also fundraise at the event.
“These things are so much fun because everyone gets together,” she said.
The Spring-tacular Vendor Show will open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. March 4 at the Iowa National Guard Armory in Mt. Pleasant.
