LOCKRIDGE — Jon and Lori Andermann will again host a free Lily Tour at their rural Lockridge home.
According to Lori, the event was well attended last year, and despite worries due to the weather, she and her husband have decided to host again.
“We’ve had a challenging season with the early extreme heat and dry conditions,” Lori said.
Between the heat and lack of rain, Lori said her lilies were looking rather sad.
“The rain we received last week was a very welcome blessing and the flowers have been rejoicing!” she said. “It’s always fun to see the new additions bloom for the first time. We are hopeful for a little more rain to keep the flowers happy so they will put on a good show.”
Either way, the Andermanns are ready to see smiling faces July 16 and 23 from 7 — 11 a.m. for the Lily Tour at 1015 250 Street, Lockridge.
There are approximately 400 different lilies to see including Day Lilies, Asiatics, Orientals, Turk’s Cap, Trumpet, and Lily Trees.
If anyone would like to see the lilies but is unable to make it to a scheduled time Lori encourages them to call (319) 696-2565 and set up an appointment so they do not miss out.
According to Lori, “It is worth the drive.”
