MT. PLEASANT — The Professional Organization of Women Eastern Region (P.O.W.E.R.) reached their fundraising goal and donated $3,500 to the Mt. Pleasant Community School District libraries, last week.
“We want to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to these local businesses for their amazing donations to the StoryBook Ball Silent Auction,” P.O.W.E.R. President Kasey Conrad said. “As members of the Mt. Pleasant Community, we are thrilled to recognize their generosity and support for our public school Libraries.”
“These contributions have helped us raise nearly $3,500 to purchase books and other educational materials for our libraries,” Conrad said. “Your kindness has made it possible for us to provide the students with a rich and diverse collection of books that will inspire their imaginations and nurture their love for reading.”
Through a silent auction which consisted of donations from local businesses, a 50/50 raffle, and donations from the community, this women-ran group provided needed resources for the Mt. Pleasant Community School District to begin replenishing their libraries.
