WINFIELD — With a theme to root for each other and watch each other grow, the Crooked Creek Days celebrations return to Winfield this year Aug. 5-7.
Activities begin Friday Aug. 5 at 9 a.m. and are packed through Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
Youth ages 12-18 are invited to register for a two-person best shot golf tournament to kick things off Friday at 8:30 a.m., with the remaining events reserved for the evening.
Friday evening includes family friendly events such as meal at 5 p.m., a cornhole tournament in the same space at 5:30 p.m., and a dance from 6-8 p.m., all at Twin Lakes Country Club.
The country club will also host a band from 9 p.m. — midnight, as well.
Other activities Friday include a puzzle escape room at City Office and a band at Welcome Inn beginning at 9 p.m.
Saturday’s activities will run from sunup to sundown beginning with a pancake breakfast from 7—10 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church.
The church will also host a marriage conference throughout the day.
The more athletically inclined can participate in a 5K Fun run beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Winfield-Mt. Union School, while others may choose to simply visit the bake sale beginning at 9 a.m. north of the Veteran’s building instead.
Other fun athletic events Saturday consist of sand volleyball (register at 9 a.m.), an inflatable zone at the fire station from noon-5 p.m., Ga Ga tournament (register 12:30 p.m.) north of the library, three-on-three basketball at WMU school (register at 12:30 p.m.), and a kickball tournament for junior high and high school students at 7 p.m. beginning in the commons.
More mellow activities await attendees of Crooked Creek Days Sunday and come to a close that afternoon with the JR Hewitt Memorial Car Show where 50/50 and car show winners will be announced.
A full schedule including silly activities, movies, and an adult dance can be found at the Winfield Crooked Creek Days Facebook page.
