Superintendent encourages kindergarten pre-registration

MT. PLEASANT — Mt. Pleasant Community School District is currently requesting pre-registration for Kindergarten Roundup.

“Kindergarten teachers and administrators are planning for the 2023 — 2024 school year,” Superintendent John Henriksen wrote in a letter to parents and guardians. “Our first step is to determine the number of students that can be expected in the fall of 2023.”

Parents and guardians are invited to pre-register children that will be 5-years-old on or before Sept. 15 for the MPCSD kindergarten program.

Even children already enrolled in the district’s preschool program need pre-registered, so the district can have the most accurate numbers.

Forms for pre-registration are available on the district website.

“If you expect to enroll your child in kindergarten for the 2023 - 2024 school year, please complete the form below and return to an elementary school or the superintendent’s office by Friday, Feb. 24, 2023,” Henriksen’s letter states.
