NEW LONDON — New London’s Holiday Stroll Committee kicked off their 2023 events with Sweet Heart Bingo last week.
According to Holiday Stroll organizer Chelsea Boecker, they saw a great turn out at the New London Community Building for the event.
“Holiday Stroll Committee would like to say Thank you to everyone who attended Bingo,” Boecker said. “As you know, the Holiday Stroll committee is a nonprofit organization. We a small group of volunteers who host events for our community throughout the year to raise money for our main event in December — The New London Holiday Stroll.”
Attendees to the event enjoyed playing bingo for prizes, eating snacks, and spending time with fellow community members.
“We had donated prizes from many places and would play games for them,” Henry County Fair Queen and event volunteer Chevy Mills said.
Some of the prizes won included gift cards from Scheels, Casey’s and Holistic Gypsy.
Mills spent the evening passing out bingo cards and collecting payment for the games.
“Also, at the end I decided to take out two of my crowns and crown some girls who wanted photos with me!” Mills said. “It was super fun!”
According to Mills, at the end of the night, “all of the kids that were there, got to pick out some prizes of their own, too.”
“Thank you, again for kicking off the year in the right direction,” Boecker said.
According to Boecker, the next community event fundraiser is a soup supper set for March 25.
