MT. PLEASANT — Enjoy the warm feeling of being home for the holidays with The Mt. Pleasant Time, Talent, and Treasures organization (T.T.T.) as they host the 22nd annual Tour of Homes event this Sunday 1-4 p.m.
The four featured homes opening their doors for the event include the homes of Jason and LISA Goody, Sue Frary, Mike and Anita Hampton, and Rob and Kat Zeglen.
Visitors have the opportunity to tour each of the participant's unique homes.
Tickets $15 at the door or $12 in advance from Brown’s or any TTT member
One hundred percent of the proceeds raised from the Tour of Homes will go directly to sending fourth-grade girls to a summer camp in June.
The organization is dedicated to sending girls to camps and more during the summer. Its goal is to provide an educational camping experience for girls that might not have the opportunity otherwise.
The Home of Sue Frary — 1845 249th St., Mt. Pleasant
Frary welcomes guests into her “very cute and cozy home,” that she has extensively remodeled since moving back to Mt. Pleasant to downsize in 2020.
Tour-goers will have the opportunity to view numerous upgrades to windows, doors, bathrooms, bedrooms, and kitchen.
For those familiar with the property before the remodel, Frary assures that the wallpaper, previously displayed in every room, is a thing of the past.
In addition to the renovations and holiday décor, guests will view many antique pieces.
One meaningful antique to Frary is a 1800s antique spinning wheel.
This piece was brought to the United States with Frary’s first generation immigrant great grandmother.
Frary is excited to welcome attendees into her home.
The Home of Lisa and Jason Goody — 1800 South Walnut St., Mt. Pleasant
Lisa and Jason Goody are preparing to share their home of the last 14 years with the Tour of Homes guests, this Sunday.
“We feel like we have the best of both worlds here,” Lisa Goody says of their home.
While they are located in town, the Goody’s home offers the feeling of being in the country thanks to nine acres of land, three ponds, a creek, and nearby trails.
The Goody’s recently remodeled and built an addition to their home.
According to Lisa Goody, the renovations started as a minor construction project in the kitchen, but quickly came to include an addition and exterior remodel.
They found Inspiration for their kitchen remodel from an Amish community in Cantril.
The dining room table and chairs were at the center of the vision.
“Spring of 2021 construction started and was finished a week before Thanksgiving 2021,” Lisa Goody said.
Lisa and Jason Goody are delighted to open their home to guests on the 2022 T.T.T. Tour of Homes with warm holiday cheer.
The Home of Anita and Mike Hampton — 2083 HWY 34, Mt. Pleasant
Anita and Mike Hampton invite Tour of Home guests to visit their historic familial home for the second time.
The home was first featured on the 1979 Tour of Homes.
This unique home was purchased in 1873 by Anita Hampton’s great-grandparents, Nelson and Mary Alice (Morehead) Cornick.
In 1873, it was a brick home with one room downstairs and one room upstairs.
A chimney that ran through both rooms of the modest home for heat.
Around the turn of the century, Nelson Cornick built the present home around the original brick structure.
Anita Hampton and her mother both grew up in this home.
Anita and Mike Hampton have lived in the unique dwelling since 1976.
Rich family history can be found throughout this home with antiques passed down through the generations.
“Mike and I sit in this big home expecting to stay until we can’t,” Anita Hampton said. “It’s a large house, but it becomes full when the entire family returns to celebrate birthdays and holidays.”
The Home of Kat and Rob Zeglen — 102 South Adams St., Olds
While the other three homes have Mt. Pleasant addresses, the final home on the tour is located in Olds.
Kat and Rob Zeglen reside in the first home built by Zeglen Construction in 2000.
This home features striking dark blue Kraftmaid cabinets, a decorated barn beam in the half-bath, and a full guest quarters in the basement which features barn siding.
The Zeglen's welcome guests to their home on a regular basis and are excited to be on the tour this year.
T.T.T. will have fresh new crop Georgia pecans in pound packages for sale at the Zeglen home.
