Task force and trustees continue work on IW next steps

MT. PLEASANT — On March 28, Iowa Wesleyan University announced the closure of the school. Since the announcement of closure Iowa Wesleyan University Board of Trustees and Mt. Pleasant Area Development Commission Task Force joined forces to create a path forward for the community and campus.

“The trustees remain fully engaged in the process of ensuring the Iowa Wesleyan University campus is put to a new use that both respects the institution’s history and is beneficial to Mount Pleasant and Southeast Iowa,” Iowa Wesleyan University Board of Trustees Chair Robert Miller shared.

“The Mount Pleasant Area Development Commission remains committed to helping the Iowa Wesleyan Board of Trustees navigate next steps through the lens of Economic Development,” Mt. Pleasant Chamber Alliance Executive Vice President Rachel Lindeen said. “The campus remains a top priority to ensure a positive future.”
