Families all across Henry County celebrated Easter this weekend.
On Saturday, residents were found at Trenton Angels’ egg hunt, New London Special Care’s Easter Bunny photos, and The Dover Museum Easter bake sale.
According to Terri Bain, Trenton Angels committee member, they have been hosting an egg hunt at Trenton’s park for the last 30 years.
“We just want to keep the community alive,” Bain said.
The event boasted an egg hunt for ages 0-12, face painting, age bracket prizes, a bike giveaway, and inexpensive concessions provided by Weslet Chapel United Methodist Church.
The Trenton event was sponsored by McKenzie Oil and Quality Equipment.
Every year, New London Specialty Care has sponsored Easter Bunny pictures at the H J Nugen Public Library.
Over 35 people had stopped in to say hello to the bunny after just 30 minutes, and library assistant Angelia Manning anticipated seeing many more before the conclusion of the event at noon.
For the last five years, New London Specialty Care volunteer Tom Coporon has volunteered his time as the Easter Bunny.
The H J Nugen Public Library invites students to enjoy various activities every Wednesday for their after-school program.
Other events and happenings for the library can be found on their Facebook or web pages.
Signs for an Easter bake sale were easily spotted in New London, as well.
The Dover Museum enticed passersby to stop in with the promise of delicious baked goods available to raise funds for window repairs.
“The Society [which runs The Dover Museum] has endeavored to keep alive the history of the surrounding area by exhibiting artifacts and offering programs for all ages,” reads the Dover Museum website.
The museum is in need of replacing 22 windows of various sizes on the second story.
The Dover Museum is open Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for anyone wanting a peek into local history.
