MT. PLEASANT — As the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance prepares to send off the current Executive Vice President, Kristi Perry, the search to fill this role has begun.
Upon receiving the resignation of current VP Kristi Perry, A committee consisting of individuals from the board of directors, Chamber of Commerce, and development commission will work together to fill the role.
“The economic development group met and we looked at the structure to use to replace the area economic vice president,” Henry County Supervisor Chad White said. “We looked at the board structure to decide if it needed to be adjusted.”
According to White, the week before posting the job, economic development group discussed if the board needed to be larger or smaller for the search committee.
“It was decided that the number should stay the same,” White said. “It was encouraged that everyone make their best attempts to make the meetings to avoid vacancies during the search.”
According to the job posting, this position serves the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce and the Mt. Pleasant Area Development Commission by promoting economic growth, supporting existing business, recruiting new businesses, assisting in recruiting workers for area employers, and developing “quality-of-life” amenities for the community and county.
According to the chamber’s Director of Membership Delaney Van Ness, the job was posted to the chamber website Wednesday.
The position was also listed on LinkedIn, Thursday.
By Friday morning LinkedIn showed six interested parties had already applied for the position.
Additional information on the position and how to apply is available on the chamber website.
Perry’s resignation is effective Nov. 30.
As this search continues, the chamber prepares to wish Perry well in her new position as the Associate Warden of Administration at the Mt. Pleasant Correctional Facility beginning in December.
A farewell party is set for Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 4 p.m. at The Grange Public House and Brewery.
