The Veterinary Clinic, P.C. has served Fairfield for more than five decades

For more than half a century, The Veterinary Clinic, P.C. has been a cornerstone of pet care in Fairfield and the surrounding community. Established in 1964, the clinic offers full-service veterinary care focused on the health and happiness of every animal it treats — and the people who care for them.

That mission has been lived out daily by Dr. Philip D. Miller, who recently celebrated 50 years with the practice. Raised on a family farm, Dr. Miller turned a childhood fascination with animal care into a lifelong calling. Since 1975, he has been a steady, compassionate presence — helping generations of local pet owners and setting the tone for a clinic deeply rooted in connection and trust.

After celebrating Dr. Miller’s 50th year at The Veterinary Clinic, Office Manager Ashlynn Groom says, “His compassion and his dedication — not just to the patients, but to the clients too — that really sets him apart.”

According to Groom, these human and animal connections are made not only by Dr. Miller, but all the staff at The Veterinary Clinic.

“I love working with the patients, and also the clients we get to see — building relationships with them is the best part of the job,” she said.

That personal, relationship-centered approach continues to define the team’s work today.
