Tire failure causes collision in construction zone

MT. PLEASANT — Henry County Sheriff's Office received notice of a single vehicle collision in the 3000-grid of Highway 218 Friday, Nov. 1 at approximately 6:45 a.m.

The vehicle was located, and an investigation ensued. The investigation determined that a 2010 Chevrolet Colorado driven by Ryan Wilbert, 19 of Donnellson, was south bound on Highway 218. The vehicle suffered a tire failure and veered into the guard rail and then into a concrete traffic barrier. This collision took place in the construction zone with no workers present.

The damage was estimated at $6000, and no injuries were reported.
