The association invites the community to partner with them to support the program for over 200 active child participants

WINFIELD — The TriCounty Library Association will host an online auction fundraiser through Oct. 13 to support their Dolly Parton Imagination Library which serves the Winfield, Wapello, Letts, Morning Sun, Columbus Junction, and Mediapolis area.
According to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library website, the program, started by Dolly Parton in 1995, “is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, no matter their family’s income.”
While families do not have to pay for the books, the libraries sponsoring this program do pay fees to cover the costs.
“To cover a single child for a year costs roughly $27,” the TriCounty Library Association states. “There are currently 288 active children in our area.”
The auction will be held on Facebook via the TriCounty Library page.
The association will post pictures of items up for auction on their page. Interested individuals can then place bids by commenting an amount on the picture group until 4 p.m. Oct. 13.
The association will then comment who won the item at the conclusion of the auction and ask the winning bidder from which library in their area they would like to pick up their items.
